Daily Mail and Mail-Online - Eco Beauty Treatments Review

Vegan manicures. Chemical-free massages. And low-tech facials. CLAUDIA CONNELL tries the new trend for eco treatments and asks: Is your salon about to be greenwashed?
Claudia Connell gave her verdict on the Still London beauty salon in East London
She says her nails remained glossy despite her manicurist using vegan polish
A £70 facial left her skin dewy and less puffy without using hi-tech tricks
Claudia says it's a way of being pampered without worries of chemical damage

Still London is the brainchild of Shelly Ellson, who worked in interior design before opening her salon in East London. She wanted to create a ‘calm and zen-like’ space for her clients, with the focus on natural and cruelty-free products. (Shelly, of course, walks to work.)

The salon’s right- on credentials are apparent from the moment I enter. It is tastefully decorated in a Scandi-cool vibe: stripped wooden floors and oversized glass ceiling pendants.

On sale are New Age trinkets, including selenite crystals (£18), designed to free your home of negative energy, and, for £5.50, a box of ‘spell candles’ to attract happiness. There’s even a therapist who goes by her spiritual name of Wolf Sister, although she isn’t there the day I visit.

On this occasion, I decide to leave aside the sorcery and go for a manicure, pedicure and something called The Goddess Facial.
